India Won ICC Champions Trophy 2013 on June 23,2013
India beat England by five runs and bagged ICC Champions Trophy 2013.India had won this title second time.
First time they shared title with Sri Lanka in 2002 ICC Champions Trophy.India beat England at Edgbaston in Birmingham.Mahendra Singh Dhoni was captain of Indian Team whereas Alastair Cook was captain of England Team.
India made total of 129 runs in 20 overs for seven wickets.They restricted England to 124 for eight wickets.Ravindra jadeja was hero of the match and he was given Man Of The Match after he took two wickets and unbeaten 33 runs.He was also awarded with Golden Ball for 12 wickets(max) in the series.
Shikhar Dhawan was declared as the man of the Tournament for scoring highest runs(363 runs) in the series.He was also given Golden Bat for his good batting performance.
The ICC Champions Trophy is One Day International(ODI) cricket Tournament which is organised by International Cricket Council(ICC).It is also known as mini World Cup.First time the Tournament was Inaugrated by the name ICC Knock Out Tournament in 1998.
It was later named as ICC Champions Trophy in 2002.Since year 2009,the number of teams participating in this event are eight.These are the 8 highest ranked ODI teams.
